No.32 Cherry Blossom - Canvas Print

Ah, the cherry blossom!

I reckon it's my favourite tree, for 2 reasons...

Firstly, the colour and fluffy blossom makes it stand out whenever you see it - the glorious pinks, maybe greens or whites, but the pinks particularly make them look like cartoon trees.  Pretend trees.  The kind of tree a child might draw if you asked them to draw a tree ;-) 

Secondly, all that glorious colour and fluff and reminders childhood innocence, are only fleeting.

The blossom in full, er, blossom, is only around for a short time, a few days really.
That means that when you do see, it's important to stop and soak up the view - it's not as if you can enjoy it any time like you can with other trees.

It's not like the summer months of green, it's not like the reds, yellows and browns of autumn, it's not like the twiggy bareness of winter - no, the cherry blossom only gives us a tiny window to enjoy it in full, which just adds to the allure of it for me.

So, what do we do when it's gone again, for another year?
Well, we can paint it of course!

Or, we can hang a print on the wall painted by someone else...
