No.1 Red & Black Doodle Canvas Print

This is the first painting in the series!

I came back to painting at the end of 2019, but this one, along with other doodle paintings, was done at least 10 years earlier!

I say at least 10 years, because when I was doing these, I wasn't recording when I was doing them. I do know that 2009 was the last time Iived at the address where I painted it, so I know it was no later than 2009. It would probably have been a good couple of years earlier actually, but a) I have no way of remembering, so 2009 is a solid date I can go with, and b) ultimately it doesn't really matter!

I do enjoy this doodle style of painting. It might not look like it, but it's all one single line, starting on one side of the canvas, and weaving its' way all the way across to the other side.

I love the swirls combining with the straight lines, and can honestly say I've always actually doodled like that, all the way back to school days!

The colours add an extra visual element - is it a red shape on black background, or black on a red background...?

You can follow the line as it goes across the canvas, or step back and enjoy the image as a whole.

I really was having fun at this time trying different ways of painting, enjoying the process of discovery for me!

Autumn colours just have that certain something..! ;-)
